Canalside Farm (Y1)
The children had a fantastic time on their trip to Canalside Farm, where they took part in a hands-on fruit picking experience.
The visit supported their learning in science, particularly around the topic of seasonal changes. During the visit, we observed signs of summer, including changes in the weather, plants, and environment. We learned about seasonal fruit, how it grows, and the conditions it needs to ripen. We took part in a workshop where we drew fruit from all colours of the rainbow and identified how each colour of fruit and veg has its own health benefits! Our favourite part was picking our own fruit and exploring its texture, colour and taste. Our expert fruit-picking will also help us to write some interesting instructions in English for our favourite little bear... Paddington!
